Mason the Sitter

Mason turned 5 months old on Sunday, July 18th. He weighs about 16 1/2 lbs, and 27 inches (give or take some squirming). He has started solid foods, and loves peas!!!

Mason can sit on his own for about 30 seconds before he tips.

Mom-are you seeing me? Am I really doing this?

Fun with Friends

When we got home from New York, we got to spend some quality time with our best friends from Indiana. Aaron, Emily, Noah and Breven. Our other best friends the Bennetts joined us too, Stephanie and Beau, poor Dustin had to work. We hung out at our house and then took the kids to the Park, let's see if you can see who the kids are.

Jeremy held Beau and Breven trying to convince me he could handle twins.

After the fun day, we got to join Aaron and Emily for their anniversary dinner with a date night. Aaahhh!

Beautiful sunset of the stadium.

We made a quick trip up to Hanover, MA to visit Mason's Great Grandma O'Brien.
Great Grandma and Mason's cousins, Grace and Emma.

Daddy and Mason hanging out.
This is the most ridiculous thing we had ever seen. Instead of MA spending tax dollars to widen their highways they just allow you to drive in the breakdown lane during rush hour...What do you do if you should actually break down?!
While in NY Mason found his appetite growing so we started veggies. This was his 1st experience with Peas.

We had a great trip visiting all of our family. Thanks to everyone for showing us great hospitality and opening up your homes to us. We love you all very much!

Mason started solids last week. He loves rice cereal, but I think he's almost ready for some veggies.

He's already double fisting. I guess he's taking after his New York family.

Mason still loves to nap with his Monk Monk but they have a new position.

Mason's hair is growing, check out his fuzz.

Mason eats his books.
I mean he reads his books.

Mason is super excited to go on his 1st plane ride this week to New York to meet his family up there and a short trip to Boston to meet Great Grandma too!

Mason has finally started to enjoy his bath time. Maybe my swim suit can take a trip from the bath tub to the pool now!
Mason and Daddy watching the college world series. I guess it's pretty obvious the apple doesn't fall from the tree.

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

4 Month Check Up

Mason has grown so fast! Everyone tells you that but you don't belive it until it's your own. He is so much fun now and we are starting to his personality. He loves to play and really only gets upset when he gets bored...much like his mom.

He had his 4 month check up today, he is 14 lbs and 13 oz, 50th percentile. He is super tall, 26 1/2 inches, 93 percentile, but he didn't really stand a chance to be short, his mom and dad are tall. I just hope he grows into his large feet.

He is meeting all of his milestones and we think he's even a little advanced. He rolls over from his back to his stomach. Of course I learned this the hard way. I left him on his playmat on top of the couch, while I went to get something to eat. He had his favorite toy, Mooser ( a stuffed Moose) on the mat next too him. Well apparently it wasn't close enough so he went to get it. I came back to find him on his tummy sucking on Mooser's foot. Luckily he didn't roll off the couch but he now plays on the floor.

Mason has gained lots of head control, so we decided to let him try out his exersaucer. He loves it! He is so tall he can touch the bottom with his feet, but so skinny we have to pad him with a blanket so he doesn't topple over.

He smiles and laughs a lot.

He has earned many nicknames, Nugget, Bubba or Bubby and Chunky Monkey. I think the Chucky Monkey one is pretty obvious here. He cheeks are chunky and he loves to hang upside down and fly in the air.

The best play time is to change his diaper. I'm not sure why but his thinks it's hysterical. He laughs and loves to make funny faces while getting fresh pants.

He is a supported sitter. He also loves TV, a little disturbing as his only 4 months old!!! I also think he is starting to teeth. He drools everywhere and on everyone. He's a very happy baby but lately his has been a little gumpy and only wants to chew on my fingers, I just hope the break through soon.

This is just funny. I went to check on him during his nap, only to find the blanket Daddy put on his legs was pulled up over his head. I guess we aren't the poster family for SIDS.
